Wray receives Association of Division III Independents Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Award

- For Immediate Release October 27, 2009 KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Trinity Washington University sophomore midfielder Macee Wray (Baltimore, Md.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week for the second straight week. In the final home game of the season, Wray put away three goals and added an assist as the Tigers defeated Mount Saint Vincent, 7-0. All three goals were unassisted, including one via free kick just outside the 18-yard box. Wray now has seven goals and seven assists on the season.

Winning Season for the Tigers Soccer Team….

- October 24, 2009 In the last home game of the season, the Tigers entered Saturday’s game facing Mount Saint Vincent with a chance to end their season with a winning record.  It didn’t take the Tigers long to score, in the 4th minute Kiauna Hemsley put one in the back of the net on an assist from Macee Wray.  Kiauna would add another goal one minute later off a punt from goalie Cristina Martinez.  Macee Wray would score the next three goals for the Tigers, all unassisted sending the Tigers into halftime with 5-0 lead. Bethea & De Etoulem named to Catholic All Tournament Team

- October 23, 2009 Freshman Ellen Bethea and Sophomore Venise Rita De Etoulem were recently named to the Catholic University Volleyball all Tournament Team.  Ellen and Venise both earned all tournament honors for their competitive play, leadership and a consistent strong showing on the court throughout the day.

Tigers Lose Tough One!

- October 20, 2009 The Trinity Tigers winning streak was broken Tuesday afternoon when the Tigers lost 1-0 to Potomac State University.  The Tigers had their chances with 11 shots on goals but were unable to capitalize.  The winning goal came in the 8th minute on a cross from Caroline Sanner inside the six yard box where Shannon Sine was waiting to tap it into the goal.  In goal for the Tigers, Courtney Haines had 21 saves on the day.

Wray named Association of Division III Independents Women’s Soccer Player of the Week

- For Immediate Release October 19, 2009 Wray receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week award KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Trinity Washington University sophomore midfielder Macee Wray (Baltimore, Md.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week. In the last two games, Wray scored two goals and provided three assists, bringing her season totals to four and six, respectively. The Tigers are now 7-5 overall.

Bethea & Barnett Named to Volleyball All-Tournament Team

Tigers Win 4th Game in a Row….

- October 14, 2009 On a cold rainy day the Tigers travelled to Staunton VA, to face the Mary Baldwin Squirrels.   It took the Tigers 7 minutes to take the lead as Kiauna Hemsley scored  on an assist from Macee Wray.  Three minutes later Kiauna scored again on an assist from Courtney Haines.  The Tigers headed into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Come from behind Victory!

- October 8, 2009 The Trinity Tigers soccer team had their first come from behind win of the season Thursday afternoon beating Prince George Community College 4-2.  Kiauna Hemsley was the first to score in the 7th minute off an assist from Macee Wray; three minutes later PGCC would equalize off an unassisted goal from Pebbles Proctor.  PGCC would take the led in the 16th minute off another goal from Proctor.  The Tigers headed into halftime down 2-1.  In the 47th minute Macee Wray tied the score off a beautifully placed free kick just outside the 18 yard box.  In the …

Hemsley name Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month

- For Immediate Release October 8, 2009 Kansas City, MO.—Kiauna Hemsley, a sophomore forward for Trinity Washington College women’s soccer team, was today named a recipient of the Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month award for September 2009.  Hemsley led the Tigers with eight goals and one assist in 10 games.  With strong foot skills and field awareness, she has scored four game-winning goals, all of which were 1-0 with wins against Patrick Henry College, Washington Adventist and Lincoln University.  The Association of Division III Independents consists of 14 Division III independent institutions that have joined together to …
