3rd Game Nail Biter

- October 7, 2009 The Trinity Tigers played their best game of the season Wednesday night against Christendom College losing in the third game 22-25.  Asia Barnett led the Tigers with 7 attack points, followed by Ellen Bethea who had 6 and 10 digs.  The Tigers are in action again this Saturday as they host a Tri-Match, games start at 11:00 am.

Bethea named Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week

- For Immediate Release October 5, 2009 Kansas City, Mo. – Trinity Washington University freshman setter Ellen Bethea (New Haven, CT.) has been selected as the Association of Division III Independents volleyball Player of the Week.  Bethea set a season record high of 14 digs and 3 service aces in a loss to Rosemont College.  She totaled 21 digs on the week.

Martinez receives Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week

- For Immediate Release October 5, 2009 Kansas City, MO. – Trinity Washington University junior goalkeeper/foward Cristina Martinez (Winston-Salem, NC.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s soccer Player of the Week.  Martinez pulled double duty in a win over Washington Adventist, switching from forward to goalkeeper at the half.  She made 17 saves to help secure the 1-0 victory.

Another Late Goal….

- October 3, 2009 Playing host to Lincoln University on Saturday, the Tigers knew they would be in for a battle.  The Tigers dominated the first half, getting several chances on goal but were unable to convert as they headed into halftime 0-0.  Lincoln came out on fire in the second half, with 22 shots on goal, but because of the outstanding play by Cristina Martinez, 17 saves, the Lions were unable to convert. Tigers Volleyball on the Right Track….

- The Trinity Tigers Volleyball team showed a strong performance in Saturday’s match against Rosemont College.  Ellen Bethea meet her individual goal of 3 attack points (team high) and set a season record high 14 digs.  The Tigers rallied to a season high of 17 points in the second game, demonstrating strong defense and tough serving.  The Tigers are in action again on Tuesday October 7th as they travel to Christendom College.

Late Goal leads Tigers to Victory!

- September 30, 2009 Facing their arch rivals for the second time this season, the Trinity Tigers Soccer team welcomed Washington Adventist (formerly Columbia Union) in what was to be another heart stopping match.  The Tigers controlled much of the first half but headed into halftime 0-0.  Washington Adventist turned up the heat in the second half giving the Tigers less opportunities to score.   In the 79th minute, Kiauna Hemsley scored off a perfectly placed pass from Macee Wray to give the Tigers the lead with 10 minutes to go.  The Tigers held strong defensively to capture the victory.  The Tigers …
