Monday, July 2: Trinity is Open

Saturday Classes Cancelled

- Because of the damage and power outages throughout the region as a result of last night’s storm, Trinity’s classes and activities scheduled for Saturday, June 30 are cancelled. Trinity’s campus is ok, but power outages exist in some buildings. Facilities and Campus Safety are on the scene. The Trinity Center will be open and Trinity Center sports activities will go on as scheduled.

Tennis nets first win of season

- March 27, 2012 The Trinity Tigers tennis team won their first match of the season Tuesday afternoon beating the College of Notre Dame 7-2.  Nataly Marcia, Lakie Meriwether, Audrey Wandji, Stefanie Merki and Jessica Stamp all won their singles matches.  In doubles Rebecca Auleus and Lakie Meriwether won 8-6 and Bola Akinrimisi and Stefanie Merki won by default.  The Tigers are in action again on Saturday as they travel to Randolph Macon College.

2012 All-Independent Women’s Basketball Teams

-                                                                                                                                                                                                                         OVERLAND PARK, Kan.– Tracy Renken, head coach at Trinity Washington University, was named the coach of the year.  Renken led the Tigers to a 14-9 record, one of the best seasons in the history of the program. The All-Independent Women’s Basketball teams were selected by the women’s basketball coaches from AD3I member schools. Junior Guard Christa Burgess was selected to the first team.  Junior guard Thamar Polynice, Freshman guard Shelby Swann and Senior forward Stefonie Kelly were all selected to the Honorable Mention Team.

Tigers Shock Washington Adventist

- The Trinity Tigers basketball team seeking revenge for their loss back in November came out ready to play and beat the Shock from Washington Adventist 59-51.  The Tigers took the lead immediately and never looked back.  The Tigers were up by 14 points during the first half and went into halftime with a comfortable 11 point lead. A few minutes into the second half, the Tigers went up by 17 but the Shock slowly started to close the gap and with 4:30 left in the game the Tigers were only up by one.  Two keys free throws by Thamar Polynice …

Burgess receives Player of the Week Award

- OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Trinity Washington University junior guard Christa Burgess (Landover, Md.) has been named the Association of Division III Independents women’s basketball Player of the Week. Burgess very nearly averaged a triple-double on the week with 11.7 points, 8.3 steals, 7.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game as the Tigers went 3-0 on the week. On Jan. 30 against Christendom, she tallied a double-double with 11 points and 12 steals and she capped the week with another double-double as she scored 12 points and nabbed 13 boards against Philadelphia Bible on Feb. 4. Tigers lose close one

- The Trinity Tigers lost a tough game Wednesday night falling to Southern VA University 70-57.  The Tigers were down 16 at halftime but fought back in the last ten minutes of the game but unfortunately ran out of time.  The Tigers outshot the SVU in the second half by 3 points.  Senior forward Stefonie Kelly had a season high 27 points and 14 rebounds, recording her first double double of the season.  Junior guard Thamar Polynice followed with 15 points and 9 steals.  The Tigers hit the road Friday to take on the Patriots from Valley Forge.  The Tigers are …

Tigers Roll….

- The Trinity Tigers posted their highest score ever Monday night beating Patrick Henry College 105-22.  Senior forward Stefonie Kelly had a game high 24 points.  Freshman guard Myesha Green had a season high 20 points.   Junior guard Thamar Polynice and Junior guard Christa Burgess both contributed 17 points.  The Tigers are now 13-7 on the season.

Tigers win again….

- The Trinity Tigers won again Saturday afternoon beating Philadelphia Bible 57-47.  The Tigers were up by 5 at halftime shooting 43% from the floor.  The Tigers never gave up their lead but Philadelphia Bible pulled within 4 points with 7 minutes remaining in the game.  Junior guard Christa Burgess had a double double on the day with 12 points and 13 rebounds.  She also contributed 5 steals. Sophomore forward Dominique Meriedy followed with 9 points.  Freshman guard Shelby Swann, Junior forward Charity Blackwell and Senior forward Stefonie Kelly all contributed 8 points.  The Tigers are now 12-4 on the season.  They hit the …
