For the 2011-2012 school year, Trinity is adding two club sports: Softball and Cross-Country! Cross Country will be offered in the fall. Softball will be offered in the spring.

Cross Country will start in the fall. We will have an interest meeting during orientation and then again when school starts.

Softball will start next spring. There will be an interest meeting at some point this fall with more details.  We have not finalized practices or games yet.

Softball is a team sport similar to baseball. Fast-pitch softball is the most competitive form of softball. It was played at the Olympic summer games in 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008. Softball pitchers can throw with speeds up to 75 miles per hour.

Cross Country running differs from track competitions, because cross country runners race outside, over natural terrain. Natural terrain can include woodlands and open fields, both flat and hilly trails. It is both a team and individual sport. As David Tiefenthaler notes on his website, “There isn’t any other sport out there where all the competitors and teams line up at the same time to find one winning runner and one winning team.” (http://www.tips4running.com/Cross-Country-Running-Tips.html)
