With the field painted pink and the Tigers sporting bright pink socks, the Trinity Tigers Soccer team hosted their first KICKS Against Breast Cancer game this past weekend. The Tigers played Greensboro College and did not get off to a good start as they were down 4 goals at the end of the first half. We came out fighting in the second half and with 14 minutes left in the game Macee Wray scored on a penalty kick followed ten minutes later with a beautiful goal by Christa Burgess. Unfortunately the Tigers ran out of time losing to Greensboro 4-2.
The fundraising goal for this game was $1000 and the team raised $1077. One hundred percent of proceeds benefit KICKS Against Breast Cancer. The winners of the raffle contest are Janet Haines, pink Trinity Breast Cancer t-shirt; Sloane Noel-Johnson, signed Washington Freedom jersey; and Najmah Ahmad, signed game ball.
The Tigers conclude their season this week with home games on Wednesday and Friday, game time is 4:00 pm.
