The Trinity Tigers soccer team came away this weekend Champions of the Inaugural Gallaudet Tournament.  On Saturday the Tigers took the field against Patrick Henry playing their best soccer of the season.  It was scoreless until the 35th minute when Allison Evans placed a perfect ball from the defensive third to Kiauna Hemsley who was waiting at midfield.  Kiauna took on one defender down the left side beating the goalie with a perfectly placed shot.  In the second half the Tigers would have more chances to score but came up short had and relied on the stellar play of the defense.  Allison Evans, Charity Blackwell, Eva Leonzo-Portillo and Jessica Marroquin kept Patrick Henry scoreless and secured the win for the Tigers.

On Sunday, the Tigers defense would once again be the heroes, allowing no goals and recording the second straight shutout.  It was a physical game against Washington Adventist (formerly Columbia   Union College) trading possession and fouls.  In the 63rd minute, once again, Kiauna Hemsley had a fast break and found herself one-on-one with the goalie placing the ball on the left side of the net just past the finger tips of the goalie. The Tigers are now 3-2.
