The Trinity Tigers opened the 2009 season in front of a packed crowd of fans. The Tigers dominated Wilson College rolling to an 8-0 victory. Macee Wray opened up the scoring in the 12th minute with a shot from outside the 18 yard line finding the upper right corner of the net. In the 23rd minute, Charity Blackwell made a beautiful pass across the goal to Kiauna Hemsley who in return sent a short pass to Courtney Haines which resulted in a line drive past the goalie. In the 25th minute, Kiauna Hemsley scored her first goal of the season getting by two defenders and scoring from inside the six yard box. Minutes later, Macee Wray had her second goal of the game again finding the upper part of the net. Closing in on the end of the first half, Kiauna Hemsley added her second goal and Charity Blackwell scored her first goal of the season sneaking one past Wilson goalie, Katie Murphy. Just 17 minutes into the second half, Freshman Christa Burgess scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Macee Wray sending a bullet into the upper left side of the goal. The final goal in the 69th minute was scored by Kiauna giving her a hat-trick on the day.
