TIGERS FINISH 3RD IN AWCC CHAMPIONSHIPS

span style=”font-family: Arial”>Trinity Tigers end on a high note in the AWCC Conference Consolation game.

Laura Regester started the Tigers off with a goal in the first 5 minutes of play. Janie Pacheco scored three second-half goals, including the game-winner with 4:09 remaining to lead Trinity to its first win of the season. The game was tied 2-2 at the half with Wells holding a slight 13-10 edge in shots.

The second half began with Sara Lee Cummings scoring her second of the game for the Tigers. Pacheco gave the Tigers a 4-3 lead with 21 minutes remaining, but the Express picked up their second goal of the contest 1:23 later. Both teams traded goals leaving the game tied 5 -5 with less than 10 minutes left to play.
Janie Pacheco got free and netted the decisive goal with just over four minutes left, giving the Tigers their first win of the season and securing 3rd place in the AWCC Championship game. Eva Leonzo Portillo made six saves in the Tiger goal to pick up the win. Every member of the team should be commeded, not only for their personal efforts in the game, but throughout the entire season.
