2007 AWCC Conference Runner-Up

- The Trinity Tigers suffered a heart breaking defeat on Saturday, in the Atlantic Women’s Colleges Conference finals, to the College of Notre Dame, 62-61. The Tigers led several times throughout the game but came up short on their final play. Lauren Hall led in scoring with 17 points, Preshse Jackson with 12 points and Shereese Russell with 11 points. The Tigers finish with an overall record of 11-13. Congratulations to Coach Gary Blake and the team for a great season.

Tigers Win First Game in AWCC Conference playoffs

- The Trinity Tigers Basketball team won the first game in the AWCC Conference playoffs beating Mary Baldwin College 67-61. The Tigers will play in the Championship game on Saturday against the College of Notre Dame at 7 pm.

Tigers Finish Season with Two Wins

- The Trinity basketball team finished the season with two wins against AWCC conference rivals Wilson and Hood College. The victory against Wilson College, 72-39, served as the final home game for three seniors, Ashley West, Lauren Hall and Courtney Knox. The ladies were joined on court by their parents and were honored with flowers and balloons during halftime. Lauren Hall led all scorers with 19 points followed by Preshuse Jackson with 14. Tigers Wrap up Week

- The Tigers were back in action on Saturday (Feb. 10th) after defeating Washington Bible College on Thursday night at the Trinity Center. The game on Saturday against Haverford College was a nail bitter down to the end with Haverford walking away with a 58-57 victory. Danielle Owens led the way for the Tigers with 13 points followed by Lauren Hall and Ashley West with 10 points each. The Tigers record is 4-4 in the AWCC and 8-12 overall. The Tigers can secure a birth in the AWCC tournament with a win Tuesday (Feb. 13th) against Hood College in Frederick, MD. …

2007 Tennis Season Preview

- The 2007 Trinity Tennis season looks very promising. Our verteran players are Senior Captain Khrysle Roberts, Junior Captain Yianna Sideris and Junior Veronica Martinez. Rounding out the squad are Kathryn Brown (Fr.), Victoria Gregg (Fr.), Crystal Kiawu (Fr.), Sharell Kyle (So.), Nija Leek (Jr.), Anastasiya Martynova (Fr.), Evgeniya Martynova (Fr.), Zulema Ramirez (Jr.) and Haymanot Yalewayker (Fr.). We have a good mixture of experienced players and newcomers to the game. Tigers Top Mary Baldwin

- Ashley West scored 24 points and Sharell Kyle came off the bench to score a season high 10 points as the Tigers captured a 68-64 win over conference rival Mary Baldwin College Wednesday night. The win evens the Tiger’s conference record to 4-4 and 7-11 overall. The Tigers return to the court tonight in a non-conference contest against Washington Bible College. Game time is 6:00 pm at the Trinity Center.

Tigers Lose to Lady Builders

- Despite Sophomore Danielle Owens’ second straight double-double (13 points, 12 rebounds), the Trinity Tigers fell to the Newport News Apprentice School Monday night. The Lady Builders went on a 17-0 run late in the first half and extended the lead in the second half to seal the victory. The Tigers fall to 6-11 overall and 3-4 in conference play. The Tigers look to rebound Wednesday night when they play Mary Baldwin College at home. Game time is 7:00 pm.

Tigers Knock off Conference Leader Chatham

- The Trinity Tigers basketball team came up big Saturday afternoon at Chatham College in an AWCC conference match-up with a 53-44 victory. Sophomore, Danielle Owens led the Tigers with her first double-double of the season (19 points, 15 rebounds). The Tigers were able to hold the Cougars to 27.3% shooting and out rebounded them 44-29. Freshman, Brandy Boulette tacked on a career high 12 points to help secure the victory.

Tigers Fall but Spirits Rise

- Lauren Hall scored a season high 24 points in Trinity’s 73-60 loss to AWCC conference rival, The College of Notre Dame, last night. The Tigers drop to 2-4 in the conference and 5-10 overall. The team is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Pittsburgh to play Chatham College. The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) organized Trinity’s Tiger Mascot to lead the cheers and a half-time tug-of-war between the fans. SAAC will continue to organize half-time activities at all remaining home games.
