Student Affairs at Trinity


Student Affairs is comprehensive and collaborative unit on campus that includes the following departments: Athletics; Campus Housing and Residence Life; Campus Ministry; Health and Wellness Center and Student Activities.  Student Affairs encourages personal growth and enriches the quality of campus life through innovative student-centered services and programs that foster self-efficacy, leadership and integrity.  Student Affairs strives to increase student retention, foster engagement and build community by empowering our students within an inclusive and supportive environment.

2016-2017 Goals

Student Affairs Goals

Goal 1: Enhance Student Engagement

  • Establish regular meetings of the CAS Student Government and Campus Activities Association to ensure strong programming and advocacy for students
  • Reestablish the Residence Hall Council to create a governance structure to assist with programming, mentoring and addressing concerns within the residence halls.
  • Provide campus wide programs to discuss current topics like the Presidential Election, the State of Women and Race Relations

Goal 2: Improve Retention

  • Onboard new Housing staff and provide on-going training for Campus Housing staff to improve their ability to build relationships, mentor students and be utilized as a resource
  • Continue to develop collaboration with Academic units to ensure that the needs of students of concern are addressed in a timely, consistent and appropriate manner
  • Improve Athlete retention to at least 85% and increase the number of students living on campus by 10%
  • Provide weekly and event specific marketing for activities and services to improve student engagement and to encourage students sense of belonging to campus

Goal 3: Promote Personal Growth and Wellness

  • Provide broad opportunities that encourage student growth and development through educational programming on health, wellness and spiritual topics
  • Provide comprehensive recreational and intercollegiate athletic opportunities for all students
  • Deepen student learning through leadership development opportunities, guided reflection and assessment of learning outcomes for programmatic initiatives
  • Consider new programming options to meet the changing needs of students including new interfaith programs, weekend service opportunities, leadership programs and evening events outside of the Residence Halls
