A new academic year begins!\u00a0 Welcome to all new students and all who are returning for the 2014-2015 academic year!\u00a0 Special welcome to the Green Class of 2018!<\/strong>\u00a0 An exciting year awaits and we are eager to get going!<\/p>\n

This week on this blog and elsewhere on the website we’ll be reporting on our new students, orientation events, and plans for the new academic year.\u00a0 I’ll also be adding some of the “what I did this summer” reports from students, so if you have something interesting to share with the campus community, please send me a few paragraphs and photos if you have them.<\/p>\n

Please note that all orientation schedules are on the website.\u00a0 The orientation for new first year students in the College of Arts and Sciences starts on Monday, August 18 — see the full schedule.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"students\"<\/a>Many thanks to all of the student orientation leaders and staff who worked so hard on Saturday to greet the new resident students and to facilitate move-in day — flawless!<\/p>\n

\"students<\/a>New CAS Dean Pamela Barnett (center, shades) and Dean Michele Mackie (beside Dean Barnett) joined student leaders to welcome the Class of 2018.<\/p>\n

\"myesha\"<\/a>Myesha went so far in showing her solidarity with the new Green Class that she sported green hair!\u00a0 I can’t top that, but I am especially pleased to welcome the Green Class since that was my own class color just a few years (ahem!) ago.<\/p>\n
