\"LOON<\/a>You’re back!\u00a0 Yahoo!\u00a0 More loons acting…. looney!<\/p>\n

\"FROG<\/a>Big whup.\u00a0 I’ve been here all year just croaking away…<\/p>\n

\"SQUIRREL<\/a>Great.\u00a0 A summer posing for “cute red squirrel” photos!<\/p>\n

\"MERGANSER<\/a>You’re back?\u00a0 Really?\u00a0 Wait’ll I tell Marge Merganser!<\/p>\n

\"MERGANSER<\/a>Yep, I heard, Myrtle, I got my hair done just so I could be in the “Adirondack Chronicles”….<\/p>\n

\"TURTLE<\/a>Well I, for one, am so pleased I am raising my leg in salute…<\/p>\n

\"GEESE<\/a>Move along, children, never get close to strangers with cameras…!<\/p>\n

\"JAYS<\/a>As usual, the blue jays stayed above it all…<\/p>\n

\"YELLOW<\/a>But the little yellow warblers had to sneak a peek….<\/p>\n

It’s great to be back in the Adirondacks!\u00a0 Every day is a new adventure here, with so many lakes to paddle, trails to hike, wildlife to observe.\u00a0\u00a0 I’m happy to share some of these photos to spread good cheer on these summer days that pass by too quickly…<\/p>\n

\"CLOUDS<\/a>I’ve been coming to the Adirondacks for almost 25 years now, and over that time I’ve formulated some of my own rules for enjoying this beautiful place.\u00a0\u00a0 One of those rules is simply this:\u00a0 “If you’re afraid of the weather, you’ll never get out to paddle a lake.”\u00a0 Yesterday looked like this most of the day, but my kayak kept telling me, “Float me, float me!”\u00a0 So, I did!\u00a0 When the lakes have whitecaps there’s always a back stream that’s calm.\u00a0 So I went to one of my favorite places, the Raquette River, and sure enough, my first paddle of the season was a delight.<\/p>\n
