Where can my students view their final letter grades? [Moodle version 3.2]

December 11, 2017 - Final letter grades, as well as midterm progress letter grades, can be viewed by the students in Self-Service, not in Moodle (Even though you, as a faculty member, submit the letter grades through Moodle). These grades are the letter grades “of record” submitted to Enrollment Services and the final letter grades listed on the students’ transcripts. How do I submit Final Grades earlier for graduating students? [Moodle version 3.2]

December 6, 2017 - You may be asked to enter final grades earlier for a small number of graduating students taking your course. It is possible to submit final grades for these students, and then come back later and submit final grades for the rest of your course. NOTE: It is not possible to change these final letters through Moodle once you have submitted grades through this interface. Therefore, you would not want to enter any “placeholder” grades which you planned to update later. Why can’t I see my students’ course totals on the ‘Grader Report’ page? [Moodle version 3.2]

December 1, 2017 - The ‘Grader Report’ is the spreadsheet-like view with all the students listed down the left side of the screen, and all the graded activities listed across the top. There are actually three possible views that you can choose for the ‘Grader Report’ in the gradebook in Moodle. ‘Full view’ – everything in the gradebook is displayed. ‘Aggregates only’ – only the course/category total is displayed, no individual grade items in the course/category are displayed. ‘Grades only’ – only the grade items are displayed, no course or category totals. How do I allow a single student a second attempt on an assignment activity? [Moodle version 3.2]

October 20, 2017 - If you have not enabled the ‘Submit’ button or required the students to accept the submission statement, and it is still before the Cut-Off date/time in the system, the student should be able to delete the existing submission and add a new one without faculty intervention. October 18, 2017 - The official class list can be found in Self-Service, Trinity’s registration and enrollment platform. To view the official enrollment, follow these steps below. Login to Self-Service. Self-Service is the shopping cart icon at the top of the main Trinity webpages:You can also reach Self-Service directly at http://selfservice.trinitydc.edu/. Once on the Self-Service main page, login using your normal Trinity account information. How do I track changes in my students’ documents in Moodle? [Moodle version 3.2]

October 4, 2017 - Unfortunately, there is no way to do shared document editing in the current installation of Moodle. You would need to download the students’ documents to your own computer. Make and track the changes. Save the file on your computer with a name that will help you locate it again (e.g., Paper2_FEEDBACK_StudentLastName-StudentFirstName.docx, StudentLastName-Paper2_FEEDBACK, etc.). Then go into the assignment activity and upload the file as a feedback file as you are grading.
