This year Cross is serving as president of the Student Government Association and president of the Trinity College Democrats. In her freshman year, she was elected vice president of her class, played on the volleyball team and was active with the Trinity College Democrats. She was elected to serve as the vice chair of the Black Caucus of the National College Democrats. During this past summer Cross participated in the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program at Howard University. She is in the honors program at Trinity.

The distinguished award is named after St. Catherine of Alexandria, a third century woman renowned for her love of learning.  She is honored as the patron of philosophers.  This award is given by Kappa Gamma Pi, the National Catholic College Graduate Honor Society, to recognize an outstanding senior who reflects the ideals of St. Catherine.  Trinity is a member of Kappa Gamma Pi, and selects the recipient based upon a review of the academic, co-curricular and leadership achievements of the candidates.
