Trinity Graduate Maggie Williams ’77 Named Top Campaign Manager for Hillary Clinton

williams_maggie.jpgDemocratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton named Trinity graduate Maggie Williams ’77 her top campaign manager on Sunday, February 10. She replaces campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle.

Williams, who served as Hillary Clinton’s White House chief of staff and as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton in the 1990s, joined the campaign after the New York senator won the New Hampshire primary January 8. She will begin assuming the duties of campaign manager this week.

“Patti and I have worked with Maggie Williams for more than a decade,” Clinton said in a statement. “I am lucky to have Maggie on board and I know she will lead our campaign with great skill towards the nomination.”

In an e-mail to campaign staff, Solis Doyle wrote. “Maggie is a remarkable person and I am confident that she will do a fabulous job.”

Trinity honored Maggie Williams in 1992 during its 95th Anniversary celebration of women leaders.  Williams was also inducted as an honorary member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honor society at Trinity, and spoke at the ceremonies.
