Trisha Smith has a liberal arts background and a Masters in Library and Information Science from Catholic University of America. As University Librarian, she believes in the library as a community change agent that forwards social innovation.

Elizabeth Augustine, Family Services Librarian

Elizabeth Augustine received her Masters in Library and Information Science from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her bachelor’s degree from American University where she studied Political Science and played field hockey. Some of her previous experience includes working with rare maps, law firm reference, and story time at a public library. As the Family Services Librarian, Liz is excited to help create a welcoming space on campus that supports Trinity’s community of student-parents. AugustineE@trinitydc.edu 

Bridgette Comanda, Instruction Librarian, Liaison to Education & Counseling

Bridgette Comanda received her Masters in Library Science from the University of Maryland and spent her undergraduate degree studying Russian history and culture. Currently an Instruction Librarian at Trinity, she is passionate about service, outreach, and information literacy. Katrina Gardner, Staff Librarian

Katrina Gardner received her Masters in Library Science from San Jose State University, and also received her B.A in English and Masters of Education from Trinity Washington University. She has worked in public, academic, and law libraries, and she is passionate about teaching people how to find high quality information from a variety of sources. Steven Salas, Research & Instruction Librarian

Steven Salas received his B.A. degree in History at the University of Maryland and his Master’s in Library and Information Science at the Catholic University of America. Over the years he’s worked in archives, museums, public libraries, academic libraries, and elementary school libraries  He believes as librarians it is our duty to not only provide a high level of service to our students/patrons, but we should always aspire to develop rich new understandings and skills outside of our comfort zone in order to better ourselves and those around us. Alexander Salopek, Collection Development Librarian

Alexander T Salopek studied philosophy as a undergraduate and has a masters in library science. He has been affiliated with a Map Library, The Center for Research Libraries, various law offices and law firms, and various government agencies. Brittney Taylor, Public Services Librarian

Brittney Taylor grew up in Maryland and has always enjoyed the library atmosphere. She held various volunteer positions before becoming a librarian, including a horticultural assistant, photographer, and office assistant. She has two MA degrees, one in Psychology from American Public University and the other in Library and Information Science from The University of Southern Mississippi. She is a huge fan of anime, K-pop, graphic novels.

Sydney Triola, Instruction Librarian & Information Literacy Specialist

Sydney (she/her) earned her Bachelor’s in Art History from the University of Vermont and her Master’s in Library and Information Studies from the University of Maryland. Sydney has spent the last seven years teaching at both the University and High School levels. Sydney is passionate about teaching Information Studies, Archival Studies, Critical Theory, Social Justice, History, and Writing in order to create spaces for her students to feel heard and seen. She spends most of her free time with her dog, Katie, and training in Muay Thai and Kickboxing.
