Trinity Washington University invites applications for a Summer Conference Assistant. This position acts as an official representative of the University and is responsible for the following: Serve as the “on-call” evening contact for all Conference Services housing guests, provide immediate on-duty response for all emergencies as outlined in the TWU Housing and Residential Emergency Preparedness Plan, serve as a liaison between Department of Public Safety and housing guests, oversee all phases of scheduled conference activity on campus, handle guest complaints, comply with request when applicable, and ensure smooth and efficient operations of events.
Staff members must maintain a high standard of personal appearance and follow through with policies and procedures set forth by the Director of Conference Services; interact with the Housekeeping, Maintenance, Catering, and the Trinity’s Department of Public Safety to ensure accordance with proper policies and procedures. In addition to the above duties, this position may be required to complete miscellaneous reports and tasks not comprising more than 50% of the total job scope. The position responds to emergency situations and applicants should be familiar with the University Police Department and other agencies the department might work with in emergencies.
Must be a Trinity Washington University student and must be registered for the 2017 Fall Semester classes. Must be able to dedicate a minimum of 20 hours a week to Conference Services & the University’s Department of Public Safety. Experience working within a public-service oriented environment is encouraged, must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, skills in problem-solving, be able to work under pressure and adjust to changes while maintaining great attention to detail. Must have the ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment, and prioritize assignments with minimal supervision. Professional appearance and comportment are required. Knowledge of the city and its various transportation systems is helpful. Must be able to promote departmental and University policies, represent the University, Housing & Residential Services, and Conference Services departments to guests in a positive and supportive manner; show diplomacy while working with individuals from many backgrounds and of all ages. Must be available for various shifts including weekends and holidays with assigned days off.

May 15 – August 11
In addition to hourly compensation, on-campus housing will be provided throughout the period of service.
