Trinity Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, seeks an experienced academic administrator to join the leadership team for Trinity’s School of Education. The Associate Dean for the School of Education works closely with the Dean to ensure the excellence of academic programs and to support student success. Candidates should be familiar with specialized professional accreditation, particularly NCATE/CAEP and/or CACREP accreditation processes. Experience in hiring and training faculty and staff for professional education , new pedagogies including online instruction, curriculum development, active learning, and course scheduling is also essential. Candidates with collegiate teaching experience in Education or Counseling as well as administration will receive preference in this search. Teaching certification or Counseling license will be a plus.
The Associate Dean will support initiatives pertaining to student retention, faculty personnel management, assessment and the implementation of new initiatives for the School of Education. The successful candidate will be a tenacious problem-solver, identifying and implementing improvements in college processes. The Associate Dean must have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with faculty and staff across the university as a whole. Successful candidates will have proven experience with specialized professional accreditation, data management and analysis, strong communication skills, ability to work with diverse groups as well as manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Candidates must present at least 5 years of higher education experience, including at least 2 years of college teaching. Demonstrated evidence of administrative accomplishment and/or organizational leadership is required. Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing, are essential. A minimum of a master’s degree is required, Ph.D. preferred.
