Position Overview

Trinity Washington University seeks applications for the position of Payroll Specialist.  Requiring a high level of integrity and confidentiality, this position is responsible for the timely processing of the bi-weekly and monthly payrolls and the distribution of payroll related data to designated departments.  Additional responsibilities include payroll & benefits journal entries, monthly payroll reconciliation, time card and monthly leave report reviews, creating and maintaining all payroll-related documents, spreadsheets, and files.

 The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years experience in processing payroll.  The ideal candidate will also possess a degree in accounting or have a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the necessary skills and abilities required for this position.  Knowledge of automated payroll systems, preferably ADP or Ceridian, is required.  User experience in a payroll conversion is a plus. The candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of federal, state and local wage and hour (payroll) laws, wage garnishments, multi-state jurisdictions and W-2 processing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, superior organizational and time management skills are required.  Prior experience with an institution of higher education is a plus.
