Commencement Rain Plan

We will make every effort to conduct Commencement on the front lawn in front of the Library, Trinity’s traditional site for Commencement. However, in a hard rain, or if lightning occurs, or other very bad weather, we will need to move the ceremony indoors to the Trinity Center for Women and Girls in Sports.

If it is raining on Commencement morning, please call Trinity’s weather hotline 202-884-9009 to find out whether we are implementing our rain plan below.

In the event of rain, we will conduct the Commencement ceremonies as detailed below:

Commencement Rain Plan Ceremony:  4:00 pm (Students Report at 3:00 pm)

CAS, NHP, SPS, BGS and EDU undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in a ceremony beginning at 4:00 pm in the Trinity Center.

All Students should report to the Trinity Center with all of your regalia by 3:00 pm. We will give you further directions after your arrival.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to take class photos if the rain plan is implemented.

Your guests may enter the Trinity Center starting at 3:00 pm.  Your guests must have tickets.  We have provided SIX rain tickets per graduate in the Commencement Packet.  No one may enter the Trinity Center without a rain ticket. This includes every body, even infants and children.  Your cooperation is very important.  We do not wish to disappoint any family, but we can only accommodate SIX individuals per family.

We have made arrangements to live-stream the Graduation ceremony live on the Commencement page. Come back at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday May 18, 2019 to watch the entire ceremony live!
