The degree program offers students the option to complete the\u00a0<b>Core + 4<\/b>\u00a0(core classes and 4 selective courses) which leaves the option for students to add a minor to their degree plan.<\/p>\n<p>A Health Services major is offered in the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Professional Studies. (M.P.H.) Degree Program<\/h2><\/span>\n<p>During senior year, health services majors have the unique opportunity to apply to the B.A. in Health Services to the Master of Public Health Program.\u00a0 The accelerated\u00a0Master\u2019s\u00a0program allows select students to complete their undergraduate health services degree while also beginning graduate coursework towards a\u00a0Master\u2019s\u00a0degree in public health.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trinitydc.edu\/nursing-health\/accelerated-master-of-public-health-degree-program-cas\/\">Click here to learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<span id=\"Additional_Requirements\"><h2>Additional Requirements<\/h2><\/span>\n<p><strong>Health Service Senior Assessment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students must earn a C or above in Senior Seminar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Internship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BLS\/CPR certification is required for the health care provider.<\/p>\n<p>Internship placement sites may have additional health or safety requirements that students must meet prior to receiving access to the internship site.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: No student will be allowed to participate in internship experiences unless and until these other requirements have been satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>Transportation: Students are required to provide their own transportation to and from internship placement sites. Trinity\u2019s free shuttle service connects the Main campus with the Brookland Metro station.<\/p>\n<span id=\"Program_Policies\"><h2>Program Policies<\/h2><\/span>\n<p><strong>Advanced Placement:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Credits earned through AP examinations do not fulfill requirements of the health services major.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLEP Policy:<br \/>\n<\/strong>Credits earned through CLEP examinations do not fulfill requirements of the health services major.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transfer Policy<br \/>\n<\/strong>Consult program faculty for information about transferring\u00a0courses to Trinity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grades in Major Courses<br \/>\n<\/strong><span style=\"background: white;color: #444444;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 10.5pt\">A minimum of a 2.0 (&#8220;C&#8221;) cumulative GPA average must be earned in the required courses for the major. A grade of C- may be counted toward fulfilling the requirements, at the discretion of the program faculty, if the overall average in the required courses is at least a 2.0. This policy applies to the required Health Service core courses except MATH 110 and PHIL 251.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pass\/No Pass<br \/>\n<\/strong>The pass\/no pass grading option is not accepted for courses within the major. Students are required to earn a grade of \u201cC\u201d (2.0) or better in\u00a0all courses counted to fulfill requirements for the major. A grade of C- may be counted toward fulfilling the requirements, at the discretion of the program faculty, if the overall average in the required courses is at least a 2.0.
