TGLI Event: “Lock Him Up” or "Fake News"? Faculty Panel Discussion of the Impeachment Inquiry

Wednesday, November 6, 12:00 pm - 01:15 PM - O'Connor Auditorium

On Wednesday, November 6, the Trinity Global Leadership Initiative will present a faculty panel discussion of the ongoing impeachment hearings in Social Hall from 12-1:15pm.

The following faculty members are scheduled to speak:

  • James Stocker, International Affairs
  • Thomas Mostowy, Criminal Justice
  • Erin Carriere-Kretschmer, Political Science
  • Luane Oprea, Counseling
  • Elizabeth Palmer, Occupational Therapy

Topics covered will include the international context of the hearings; explanations of differences between an impeachment hearing and a traditional legal case; historical perspectives from the Johnson, Nixon and Clinton years; what polling can tell us about these hearings; the psychological effects of impeachment on particular communities; and the potential of non-traditional frames of social justice for understanding these events.

There will be lots of time for Q&A at the end! We want to know what questions you have, and of course how these hearings have affected you.

Come on out and discuss history being made!
