The Trinity basketball team has not had a win against Hood College since January 21, 2003. Hood has handed the Tigers seven consecutive losses, but that all changed Wednesday night at the Trinity Center as the Tigers defeated Hood 61-44.
Hood College held the lead throughout the first twenty minutes of play and ended the half leading 24-21. The second half of play belonged entirely to the Tigers. Their relentless defensive pressure was too much for Hood to handle as they struggled to get into an offensive flow. The Tigers took a 1 point lead (25-24) early in the second half on a lay-up by Ashley West.
Lauren Hall led the Tigers in scoring with 18 points followed by Brandy Boulette with 9 points.
The Tigers improve their conference record to 2-1 and 5-6 overall. The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, January 23rd when they travel to Mary Baldwin College
