Academic Success Tips
Finding Your Fit at Trinity (Read more about finding your fit on a college campus in the NY Times article.)
When applying to college, many students are told to focus on “fit.” After all, you have been looking forward to going to college and you have heard so many stories about college being the best years of your life. To truly make these years memorable, find your fit and enjoy your college life. Be sure to balance your academic and social demands appropriately so you have academic as well as social success.
- A new place brings new challenges so look for challenges that will engage you while at Trinity.
- Don’t try to just fit in; “adapt” instead. Trinity presents many opportunities to grow and adapt.
- Make acquaintances and try to make new friends.
- Get involved in a campus activity or event. Trinity has a number of student clubs and organizations as well as one-time and on-going events. (Dr. Gerlach, VP of Student Affairs, sends an email each week highlighting select events.)
- Know your values. Select new friends and activities that align with your values and beliefs.
- Always be the fabulous YOU; be yourself. When you act yourself, you will find your fit at Trinity in time.
