What if I have a disability and need accommodations?

The Director of DSS facilitates all accommodations for students with disabilities. If you have a physical, cognitive or emotional disability, you should bring documentation of your disability to the Director. Upon receipt of your documentation, she will work with you to formulate an individual learning plan that will enable you to fulfill your academic potential. For more information on support services for students with disabilities, visit DSS.

Documentation of your disability must be on file with the Director before accommodations can be made. Documentation guidelines for students and health professionals are provided. Ideally, requests for accommodations should be made before the semester starts or as soon as possible thereafter.

Do I have to make an appointment to get help?

You do not need an appointment for tutoring. The majority of students receive help during tutoring walk in hours; however, you may schedule an appointment for a specific time or if you have a special request for help. Tutoring sessions usually last half an hour or an hour. Regular weekly appointments can be arranged by mutual agreement between the tutor and the tutee.
