Dr. Deborah Taub, assistant professor of special education in the School of Education, was lead author on “Inclusive Literacy Instruction: State and National Standards and Beyond” in the second edition of Effective Literacy Instruction for Learners with Complex Support Needs: Second Edition. The chapter identified components of effective literacy instruction that is universally designed to meet the needs of all students, including those with disabilities. It provided instruction on how to create standards aligned lessons where all students are held to high expectations.
