Haskins to present paper at the Mid Atlantic Conference on Problem Gambling

Assistant Professor of Counseling Dr. Deborah Haskins will present her paper “Cultural Influences on Problem Gambling and Treatment” at the Mid-Atlantic Conference on Problem Gambling, which is titled “Increasing the Flow of Problem Gambling Services” and which will be held November 17-18, 2011 in Washington, DC.  The conference is co-sponsored by the National Council of Problem Gambling in partnership with the Maryland Council of Problem Gambling (of which Dr. Haskins is Vice President) and the Virginia Council of Problem Gambling.  Additionally, the organizations are providing training to counselors in the DC metropolitan area due to the increased gaming in the region so that these counselors can provide prevention and treatment to consumers and communities.
