Master’s Degree Programs

These degree programs are for students who have already earned a bachelor’s dgree and wish to continue their studies.

Master of Arts in Communication (MA COM)

As a Master’s of Communication (MA COM) student at Trinity, you will study how people and organizations communicate, and the role of public discourse and mass communication. A degree in communication will prepare you for many different careers and is flexible enough to suit many interests.  The communications industry includes jobs in journalism, public relations, advertising, mass media, publishing, and marketing.

The MA COM degree program prepares graduates through core courses and by developing a strong foundation in the study of communication as it relates to media and politics and organizations in general. Underlying all aspects of the program is an appreciation of the current technological revolution and its profound influence on communication, with an emphasis in social media such as blogging, Twitter, and Facebook.

Master of Arts in International Security Studies (MA ISS)

The Master of Arts in International Security Studies (MA ISS) prepares students for analytical, operational, and leadership positions in global interagency, military, and civilian settings. The program is designed to give established and aspiring international security professionals the necessary edge in a chaotic world. It is ideal for political/economic specialists, threat specialists, and foreign area specialists.

The MA ISS degree program prepares professionals to develop critical thinking skills that enable the understanding and comprehension of complex perspectives and to the analyze and evaluate critical issues in national security.  Discover, engage, analyze, and evaluate topics including: global and national security, the role of force, the roles of diplomacy, finance, economics, and information, international law, and strategic intelligence in the context of real world issues.  Engage in analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of the many perspectives of terrorism through intelligence assessment of multiple sources, such as intelligence sources, intelligence community communications, scholarly journals, conventional media, and social media.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Trinity’s Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) program prepares graduates to manage and lead today’s complex organizations.  Through an innovative combination of academic coursework and professional development activities, students acquire the skills necessary to become an effective business leader: critical thinking, strategic management, cultural understanding, problem solving and values-based leadership.  Trinity MBA students become fluent in the language and use of quantitative methods for decision making, managerial accounting, financial decision making, and economics.  Reflecting Trinity’s mission of social justice, the program promotes purposeful reflection, learning, and adherence to ethical standards of personal and corporate social responsibility.

The MBA degree program prepares graduates through an emphasis on developing and evaluating products, budgets, marketing plans, financial management strategies and policies to govern and expand business.  Plan and manage budgets and financial systems for small and large for profit organizations.  Judge the legal and ethical issues facing contemporary social and economic situations and their relationship to the ability of corporations to conduct viable business activities.  Analyze complex business challenges; Compose strategies to improve and grow businesses; and present alternative solutions to shareholders, owners and managers.

Master of Science in Administration (MSA) in Management

Trinity’s Master of Science in Administration (MSA) program will prepare graduates for leadership positions in corporate, government or non-profit settings.  MSA students develop management skills and enhance your leadership potential while focusing on one of five career specializations: Federal Program Management, Human Resource Management, Non Profit Management, Organizational Development, and Public and Community Healthcare Mangement.

The MSA degree programs prepare graduates to exercise leadership through initiative and decision making based on an understanding of the vision, mission, and the dynamics of their organization in the complex environment of their industries.  MSA students learn to plan for and manage change, analyze financial statements, design and carryout research initiatives leading to evidence based decision making and effective problem solving, value interpersonal differences, respect others, communicate effectively, evaluate industry trends for opportunity and industry issues for threats to organizational stability.

The MSA degree program is designed to add value and worth to your career as a rising professional or to prepare you for a career change in co-educational, accelerated flexible schedule.  The 36 credit Master’s of Science in Administration degree program graduates professionals prepared for careers in one of the most recession proof markets in our nation, the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
