Trinity Technology and the Laptop Purchase Portal

Dear Community,

On behalf of Technology Services, welcome back to Trinity! Over the summer we’ve worked hard to incorporate many changes, enhancements and new services. We focused on supporting mobile technologies, and I am thrilled to highlight some of our exciting changes to start the academic year!

Back to school laptops

We’ve created a portal to help with purchasing laptops. Come check out the great deals on laptops offering tremendous value, performance and battery life!

Easier access to wireless

We’ve listened to frustrations with our wireless portal and gave it an overhaul. Now it’s easier and faster to connect mobile devices. Our wireless Terms of Service no longer requires daily acceptance with a Trinity login.

We’ve also installed over a dozen access points to expand our wireless network! The south wing faculty corridors now have floor-by-floor coverage. Wireless signals have been improved around sitting areas near the Well, the Trinity Center and several other locations!

Easier classroom technology

We’ve added audio/visual jacks in classrooms to connect your portable device! Flip open the black cubby on instructor stations to access cables and to connect to the classroom projector.

We’ve also made classroom audio/visual equipment easier to operate. Look for the blue-lit keypad, located next to SMARTBoards, to control the projector and sound.

AirPlay in classrooms

We’ve added AirPlay into classrooms! AirPlay is a wireless technology that allows iPads, iPhones, MacBooks and other compatible devices to stream video, audio, and photos to Trinity’s projectors and HDTVs. With access to over 1.2 million apps in Apple’s App Store, the possibilities with AirPlay in the classroom are limitless!

Your feedback is absolutely crucial to us, and none of the above would have been possible if it were not for your valued responses in last year’s Annual ITS Satisfaction Survey. Keep an eye out for the next survey later this year!

We look forward to serving your Information Technology needs throughout the year, and should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
