Green Door is a community health program that prepares people with mental illnesses to live independently in the district of Columbia. Green Door is nationally recognized as one of the most successful programs for people with mental illnesses and is the 2nd largest mental health provider in the District of Columbia. Since 1976 Green Door has helped thousands of people with mental illnesses from hospitals, homeless shelters and community mental health centers to reclaim their lives. Green Door has approximately 140 full time employees.
This is an exciting opportunity for some hands‐on HR experience in a fast paced healthcare environment. The intern will directly contribute to providing core human resources services by helping to maintain the HRIS database, track employment requirements, and provide customer service to the agency’s employees. Typical duties include data entry, preparing correspondence, answering employee questions and maintaining employee files. Green Door is a business casual environment and the intern would be working in a young HR department.
• Currently enrolled Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Human Resources, Public Administration or related field at an accredited college or university.
• Detailed oriented and willingness to learn a must.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
