RE: Welcome Public Safety Chief Adrienne Murray!
I am so pleased to announce the appointment of Adrienne Murray as Trinity’s new chief of the Department of Public Safety (DPS). Chief Murray brings to Trinity an outstanding track record in higher education safety and security, as well as law enforcement.
Chief Murray comes to Trinity from Davidson College in North Carolina where she was director of Public Safety and chief of Campus Police. She was highly regarded at Davidson where she achieved significant goals in emergency response preparedness, Clery Act and Title IX compliance, and improved diversity on the campus safety team.
Prior to her leadership at Davidson, Chief Murray was at the University of Richmond where she held increasingly responsible positions in the Campus Police Department and the Office of the President. Chief Murray started out in law enforcement in the City of Richmond Police Department.
Along the pathway of her career in law enforcement and campus safety, Chief Murray earned her Bachelor of Applied Studies in Human Resources with honors at the University of Richmond, and she received a certificate in Criminal Justice Education at the University of Virginia. She is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and has participated in numerous leadership training programs of the Virginia Police Chiefs Foundation. She has received numerous awards and commendations for her excellent work in every location.
Chief Murray is already on duty and is eager to get to know the Trinity community. Please join me in extending a hearty Trinity “Welcome!” to her and thank you in advance for your engagement with her in continuing to ensure the climate of safety and security on our campus and throughout the Trinity community.
