The United Planning Organization’s (UPO) Joseph Beavers scholarship program provides five District of Columbia high school and G.E.D. graduates with scholarships worth $10,000 each. The fund is endowed by proceeds received from UPO’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast held each year in January.
Attached is the UPO’s 2012 Joseph A. Beavers Scholarship application. Each year we award five $10,000 scholarships to graduating seniors or recent G.E.D. recipients. The deadline is May 4th at 5:00 pm, so there is still time for interested students to submit an application. Applicants “MUST” be a DC resident and attend a DC public, private, or charter school.
