Born to Act? These two plays are casting

 
 

Non-Equity casting for the Capital Fringe Festival – JESUS LE MOMO

Auditions by appointment only: they will be held on Sunday, April 15th, from 12-6 pm.

Description: The play takes place in 1970 and is about a religious group at an inn who, during their worship one day, are visited by the very fleshy ghost of Antoine Artaud (the creator of theatre of cruelty) who tries to get the group to resurrect him. We are currently seeking to fill roles in the show.

Character Breakdown:

Jim Fitzmaurice, 34 – Ex-priest, keeper of the Inn; otherwise unemployed but seeking a position in the District of Columbia School System. (Would prefer if he could play the guitar.)

Gretchen Fitzmaurice, 28. – His wife; law firm paralegal. (Strong knowledge of French preferred though not required.)

Le Momo 20-80. – The ghost of Artaud. Crazed and intense author and playwright seeking to be resurrected by the group. (Strong knowledge of French preferred though not required.)

Debbie, mature 23. – Nursing student living at the Inn, working part-time in D.C. General Hospital emergency room.

Sue, younger 23. – Nursing student living at the Inn, also working part-time in D.C. General Hospital emergency room.

Paul, 25. – Conscientious objector performing alternative service in D.C. General Hospital.

Actors will be paid.

Performances: Fri. 7/13, Sun. 7/15, Sat. 7/21, Tues. 7/24, Thurs. 7/26, Sat. 7/28.

Rehearsals TBD.

Male Actors Needed for Joseph… Dreamcoat

The Damascus Theatre Company is looking for four actors to round out the cast of its summer musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Three men ages 17 plus and one older man are needed to fill roles in the show.

Damascus Theater Company is an all volunteer company and no stipends are paid to actors.

Performances are weekends June 8-24 at the Arts Barn Theatre, Gaithersburg.

Rehearsals starting in April at the Arts Barn.
