Rhode Island Housing uses all of its resources to provide low-interest loans, grants, education and assistance to help Rhode Islanders find, rent, buy, build and keep a good home. Created by the General Assembly in 1973, Rhode Island Housing is a privately funded public purpose corporation.
Rhode Island Housing is currently looking for a Deputy Executive Director or a Deputy Executive Director/CFO. The Deputy Executive Director reports directly to the Executive Director as a senior advisor, frequently represents Rhode Island Housing and, in the Executive Director’s absence may operate with his or her authority. Rhode Island Housing currently has two Deputy Executive Director positions with one Deputy Executive Director assuring mission and program excellence and the other assuring financial vitality and soundness within all aspects of the organization and its programs including those for loans to build homes or buy one, housing help for owners and renters, working to end homelessness, and creating KeepSpace communities. Candidate will work closely and collaboratively with the Executive Director, any other Deputy Executive Director, Division Directors and other staff to manage and create programs that suit the rapidly changing landscape surrounding the agency’s mission. As Deputy Director, you will work closely with the Executive Director to strategically identify and implement housing finance initiatives that will result in the expansion and diversification of Rhode Island Housing’s constituency and revenue base. The Deputy Executive Director shall work to preserve and enhance the financial stability of Rhode Island Housing.
Candidate should have 8-10 years of senior level management experience at a government or non-profit organization or in managing a complex financial organization; demonstrated commitment to serving the public; demonstrated leadership and management abilities; experience with complex financial structures; program management/oversight abilities; ability to think abstractly about program and financial matters; ability to analyze and manage financial risk; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels; strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to think strategically to develop and achieve organizational goals and objectives; MBA, MPA or other related advanced degree required.
