Attached is an announcement of Westat’s 2012 Summer Internship Opportunities in Applied Social Science for Underserved and Underrepresented Minority Students who are African American, Hispanic/Latino American, and Native American/Alaskan Native. We look forward to having interns this summer for the tenth consecutive year.
The program started out in Westat’s Behavioral Health Group (BHG) and has now branched out to other groups including the Environmental Health Group, the Health Studies Group, Human Services Study Area, the Health Communications Group, and the Education Group. It’s a chance for graduate students to work with Westat researchers who can expose them to research that goes beyond theory and into the real world. The program provides the interns with an opportunity to be in a mentoring relationship with seasoned researchers at Westat.
Applicants must have completed their baccalaureate degree prior to June 1, 2012 to be considered. Applications will be accepted beginning now through February 28th 2012.
Please share this flyer with your students and interested faculty and staff. Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to discuss the program with you.
