Fair Lending Specialist

 Reinvestment Partners (formerly known as Community Reinvestment Association of North Carolina) is a nonprofit agency advocating for economic justice and opportunity, is currently seeking a Fair Lending Specialist to assist in increasing their capacity on fair lending issues.



The Fair Lending Specialist (FLS) will be responsible for the intake and resolution of complaints and inquiries, and working with the Project Director on maintaining a database of these complaints and inquiries. The FLS will also be responsible for fair lending tests.  The responsibilities will include: recruiting and training testers, assigning and debriefing of testers, and evaluation of test results. In coordination with the Project Director, the FLS will assist with the planning and conducting of education and training sessions on fair lending and providing capacity building with partner agencies to mobilize their communities on fair lending issues. The FLS also will contribute to the use of internet, social media, and other creative outlets for organizing and communications on fair lending issues.


The FLS should have a demonstrated commitment and understanding of advocacy, organizing, fair lending, civil rights, and direct experience with fair lending enforcement. They should also be well organized with the ability to work on multiple projects at one time, with minimal supervision. With trainings, workshops, and other public presentations being a part of the duties, the ability to communicate effectively with others individually and in public forums is needed. Experience working with a diverse group of partners on a local, state, and national level would be a plus.  Proficiency in Spanish is preferred, but not required. Legal background desirable.

Salary and Benefits:

§  Up to $55,000, commensurate with experience
