Metro Closures this Weekend

In order to conduct major track work during the weekend of October 28-30, Metro will be replacing trains with free shuttle buses on the Green/Yellow Line between L’Enfant Plaza and Southern Ave stations. Metro will also be single tracking on the Red Line between Dupont Circle and Judiciary Square and on the Orange Line between New Carrollton and Cheverly.

GREEN/YELLOW LINE: From 10 p.m. Friday through closing on Sunday, free shuttle buses will replace Green/Yellow Line trains between L’Enfant Plaza and Southern Ave, and four stations – Waterfront-SEU, Navy Yard, Anacostia and Congress Heights – will be closed. A free “local” shuttle bus will operate with stops at all of the stations, and a free “express” shuttle will operate between L’Enfant Plaza and Southern Ave with an intermediate stop at Anacostia. Customers should build an extra 30 minutes into their travel plans if they need to pass through the work zone.

RED LINE: From 10 p.m. Friday through closing on Sunday, Red Line trains will share one track between the Dupont Circle and Judiciary Square stations. Customers are encouraged to consider alternative travel options, including Metrobus and DC Circulator. Learn more about these options online at wmata.com. Customers should build an extra 30 minutes into their travel plans if they need to pass through the work zone and expect crowding conditions.

ORANGE LINE: From 10 p.m. Friday through closing on Sunday, Orange Line trains will share one track between the New Carrollton and Cheverly stations. Customers should build an extra 20 minutes into their travel plans if they need to pass through the work zone.
