October 9th – 12th, Global Zero will be providing the opportunity for students to participate in our Student Institute in Los Angeles (all travel expenses to Los Angeles paid) followed by the Global Zero Summit. During the LA Institute, students will participate in workshops on organizing and strategic planning, receive policy training, engage leading experts, introduce project ideas and connect with fellow students from around the world.

The Global Zero Summit will bring together over 100 eminent Global Zero leaders and current and former senior government officials, including addresses from former Secretaries of State George Shultz and James Baker, for intensive policy and strategy discussions to advance our goal of enlisting heads of nuclear powers to hold a Nuclear Weapons Summit to launch the first in history multilateral nuclear arms negotiations. The program will include progress reports by leaders from key countries, strategy sessions, as well as presentations by Global Zero student leaders on our grassroots campaign focusing on the $1 trillion per decade cost of nuclear arsenals.

Participating students will have the opportunity to engage current and former heads of state, military commanders, national security advisers, celebrities, business, civic and faith leaders to strategize on building the movement.
