2011 Summer Health Policy Internship

2011 Summer Health Policy Internship

The National Partnership for Women & Families promotes fairness in the workplace, reproductive health and rights, access to quality affordable health care, and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family. We believe that actions speak louder than words, and for nearly four decades we have fought for every major policy advance that has helped women and families.

The 2011 Summer Health Policy Intern will work on challenging projects across the National Partnership’s health care agenda, including health reform implementation issues and the Campaign for Better Care. The Campaign for Better Care is an important new effort to improve the health care system so that it delivers high quality, comprehensive and coordinated care to vulnerable older adults with multiple chronic conditions.

At the National Partnership, interns are integrally involved in our day-to-day work, and undertake a wide range of activities. Activities will help interns develop skills needed for work in the health policy and advocacy world, including legislative and policy research, analysis, writing for a variety of audiences, and coalition-building. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend exciting briefings, hearings, and other events on Capitol Hill and in other venues around town.

The internship is unpaid, but is available for course credit. Summer internships are generally full-time.

We welcome interested graduate and undergraduate students to submit a cover letter, resume, writing sample, and three references to 2011 Summer Health Policy Internship, National Partnership for Women & Families, 1875 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Suite 650, Washington, DC 20009 or to Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the internship is filled.
