Students- this is an excellent networking opportunity that will also help you understand the current business environment and how it is affecting entrepreneurship. The US Department of Transportation reached out to us to invite our students in SPS because they know that we have a business program and that you are looking for educational and potential job opportunities. On April 20th, The U.S. Department of Transportation will host “From Recovery to Beyond: Small Businesses Thinking Big” Small Business Summit. This event will be held at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Avenue, NW, District of Columbia. The Small Business Summit is an opportunity for influential stakeholders to come together and learn from each other. With over 1,000 participants from across the country, this national business forum will examine the current economic climate as well as address the specific challenges encountered by small businesses. The Summit will be attended by State and Federal officials, as well as prominent business leaders from across the United States.
The “Young Entrepreneurs” forum will take place on April 20th, from 4:00 – 5:00pm in the Colonial Ballroom. Our speakers will focus on entrepreneurship and its role in economic development. Each speaker will discuss their experiences as a young entrepreneur, the rewards and challenges of operating a small business, and the critical decisions that helped them succeed.
I would like to encourage students at Trinity Washington University to attend the Young Entrepreneurs forum. This event will provide a great opportunity for the students to learn from young, successful entrepreneurs, while networking for future opportunities.
This is a free student invitation. Please click on the link below to register for this forum. All students must register by APRIL 8, 2011.
