The American Land Title Association (ALTA) is seeking a paid intern to work in our Washington, DC, office for up to 20 hours per week. Interns are needed for research, data entry, and documentation, as well as general association support as assigned. Interns have the opportunity to develop processes and documentation to support future career aspirations. Internships are for 3 months with the option of renewal.
ALTA, founded in 1907, is the national trade association and voice of the abstract and title insurance industry. ALTA members search, review and insure land titles to protect home buyers and mortgage lenders who invest in real estate.
The selected applicant will work with ALTA’s Database Administrator and interact with ALTA Membership staff in a professional office environment.
Duties include research (internet, phone, and e-mail), data entry (including basic database queries and bookkeeping), as well as development and documentation of processes and procedures. These positions offer growth potential in information systems, basic bookkeeping, membership, and association management.
Applicants must be highly organized, creative, curious, and self-directed with strong written and verbal communication skills. Study concentrations in business and information systems are helpful though not required. ALTA presents an excellent opportunity to work in a small high-performance team and learn first-hand about many association-related disciplines. Interested candidates should visit the ALTA Web site at www.alta.org for more information about what we do.
