Delta Sigma Theta Scholarships for Males and Females
Each year, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter (FWAC), a service sorority, awards scholarships to graduating high school students from Southern Prince George’s County and Charles County who have demonstrated a significant level of academic success, social awareness, and community involvement, as they pursue their goal of higher education. This year, FWAC will award a total of $17,000. The awards will be at least $1000.
The Scholarship Committee will evaluate candidates based on community service, academic achievement, a personal statement, a written essay, an interview, and letters of recommendation. Community Service is the essential component of the award. All candidates must possess a minimum grade point average of 2.5 calculated through the end of the 2nd quarter 2010-2011 and plan to enroll full-time in an accredited 2 or 4 year college/university in summer or fall 2011.
Applications for the 2011 FWAC Scholarship are now available on the Chapter’s website: www.dstfwac.org. Applications must be postmarked by March 4, 2011 in order to be considered. We encourage all eligible applicants to apply.
