In the years since the 9/11 attacks and the advent of the war in Iraq, the need for new and diverse approaches to international security has become acute throughout the public and private security-related professions. The Master of Arts in International Security Studies (MAISS) is offered through the School of Professional Studies and prepares students for analytical, operational, and leadership positions in global interagency, military, and civilian settings.

The MAISS program is designed to give established and aspiring international security professionals the necessary edge in a chaotic world. It is ideal for political/economic specialists, threat specialists, and foreign area specialists. In addition to coursework, the program will offer non-classroom professional activities to promote networking and career advancement.

This co-educational, flexible (evenings, weekends), accelerated (8-week sessions for 3-credit hour classes) program is 36 credit hours.
