“As a parent, one must lead by example; I could not tell my children to seek an higher education if I was not willing to do so myself.” – David Cooks Jr.

As a single parent of three, David Cooks Jr. wanted to raise his children before completing his education. He felt that he could not ask his children to continue into higher education if he was not willing to get a degree himself.

David did his research and chose Trinity because of the diverse academic culture and well-rounded educational opportunities it provided. Currently, David is studying for his B.A. in General Studies with a Humanities focus. He has found the faculty at Trinity superb in helping him further his skills. David notes, “My favorite aspect of Trinity has been the wealth of knowledge from its faculty to empower each student in his or her chosen field.”

By taking classes on the weekends and weeknights through the School of Professional Studies, David has been able to maintain his full-time position at The Department of Justice. After work, he finishes his class assignments and is still able to spend time with his wife and daughter.

Upon graduation, David plans to use his Trinity degree to either enter Law School in Civil Rights/Constitutional Law or pursue a doctorate in Ancient History.
