Student government leaders(CAS Student Government Leaders gather with President McGuire)

Here we are in the season of Thanksgiving!  The fall 2017 semester has flown by, and now we have a few days to pause, relax, enjoy family and friends, and most important, take stock of all of the reasons why we should give thanks and express gratitude for the many joys we share at Trinity.  This week I will be devoting this blog and the next several blogs to the marvelous achievements of our students and faculty — and expressing so many thanks to all for your hard work and tireless pursuit of excellence, service and advocacy to make the world a better place.

THANK YOU to the student government leaders in the College of Arts & Sciences, gathered in the photo above.  These students are working tirelessly on behalf of all of our CAS students, and they exemplify the best of Trinity’s tradition of women’s leadership in service to otheTHANKrs.

Trinity Dreamers at the US Capitol(Trinity Dreamers at the U.S.Capitol)

THANK YOU to the Trinity Dreamers and friends who marched to the U.S. Capitol two weeks ago to advocate for a clean Dream Act and justice for undocumented persons.  These students carry on the best Trinity traditions of women raising their voices for justice in every place that needs clear and ardent advocacy.

Math Day on the HillTHANK YOU to Dr. Kerry Luse, Dean Sita Ramamurti, Math students and the Association of Women in Mathematics (photo above and below) for a very successful day visiting Congressional offices on Capitol Hill to make the case for enlarging support for women in Math.  We know that women can be powerful with the right education including a solid grounding in math.  Thanks for carrying Trinity’s banner high!
