Today is Veterans Day.  This is a special moment to remember and thank all of those brave women and men who have served in the armed forces.  Thousands are still fighting in Afghanistan.  Thousands more carry the wounds of Iraq.  Veterans of so many other wars and military actions from World War II to Korea to Vietnam and the first Gulf War all should receive our special gratitude not only today, but every day.

With thanks to all veterans, let us also resolve to work even harder for peace.
