Congratulations from the Trinity Community to our alumnae who were victorious in yesterday’s elections: Nancy Pelosi ’62, and Kathleen Sebelius ’70!!
Governor Sebelius won her second term to lead the State of Kansas. She is widely respected for her ability to build a bipartisan coalition in the state.
Congresswoman Pelosi won her California district representing San Franscisco. More notable, however, as the leader of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives, she is now poised to become Speaker of the House, the first woman ever to hold this most powerful of all positions in the national legislature.
