About the Writing Center

The Trinity Writing Center is located in the Academic Services Center at the Library.  The Writing Center is not a drop-off proofreading service, and we will not write your essays for you, but we will share tips, techniques and resources you can use to become a better writer.

Writing Center conferences last between 30 and 50 minutes, and you should plan your visit at least a day or two in advance.  Use the appointment request form to save your spot, and don't forget to check our list of things to bring to your appointment.

No time to wait for an appointment?

Did you know you can find writing assistance online, day or night?  If you have specific questions about source citation, document formatting or similar issues, try Purdue's Online Writing Lab.  It offers information on a wide range of topics related to writing.  Use the menu on the right side of the OWL's page to navigate the site.

Trinity students can also request a free account with Smarthinking, an online tutoring service that provides assistance with many subjects, including writing, 24 hours a day.  Click here for more information about getting your Smarthinking account.  If you already have a Smarthinking account and need to log in, click here.

You are not alone!

Here's what Trinity students are saying about the Writing Center:

"The Writing Center was an invaluable aid in my transition into graduate school."

"The Writing Center has helped me in ways words cannot describe."

"English is my third language.  I don't think I could have done it without the Writing Center."

Hundreds of students use the Trinity Writing Center.  We conducted nearly 1,600 conferences last year with writers of all skill levels.  You will benefit from a visit to the Writing Center, so make an appointment today!
