Assistant or Associate Professor of Undergraduate Teacher Education

Trinity, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in undergraduate Teacher Education.  This new position, resident in Trinity’s full-time undergraduate College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), will provide leadership for developing the baccalaureate Education programs in both CAS and Trinity’s part-time evening/weekend School of Professional Studies (SPS).  Trinity seeks an experienced teacher educator who has had front-line experience in K-12 classrooms as well as collegiate teaching.  The workload will include teaching and advising students in both CAS and SPS, cooperating with the deans and faculty of both schools to build the program and plan future personnel needs effectively, and collaborating with the faculty and dean of the School of Education to ensure that the baccalaureate programs fulfill NCATE accreditation standards and requirements for student teacher placement in area public and private schools.

An Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education or a related discipline is required; academic and professional teaching experience in Elementary Education preferred.  Qualified applicants should submit a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, the names of three references who can specifically address teaching excellence and educational experience, and a transcript from the institution from which they received their highest degree.
