Trinity Washington, a comprehensive university in the nation’s capital, invites applications for the position of Instructor/Assistant Professor of English within the coeducational School of Professional Studies (SPS), which offers innovative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels designed for adult learners.

The successful applicant will teach courses in English language and usage, particularly at developmental and introductory levels, design and teach upper-level elective courses in English; assist in tutoring SPS students; and design and facilitate workforce development literacy trainings to business and industry personnel.

Applicants for this position will hold a master’s degree in English (Ph.D. preferred) and have at least two years of successful teaching experience in higher education, preferably with part-time, adult learners.  Experience with diverse student populations and with curriculum design and delivery strongly preferred. Preference will be given to the candidate who can demonstrate excellence in teaching, potential for scholarly and service contributions, and commitment to students’ academic success.
